Selamat Bakudapa! Or Hello in Manado. For those who have known me as half Indonesian, Manado is where my roots originated from. Located in northern Indonesia, Manado is the capital city of Sulawesi Island, near the Philippines. Roa by Jovian Mandagie is my second baby after establishing my fashion empire. Roa is a dream come true for me. Serving every each one of you is an honour for all of us at Roa. I have always been passionate about cooking since young.
Unfortunately, ever since my career began, it is almost impossible to even make time for grocery shopping. So in 2011, I made the decision to start planning for a restaurant that I can call my very own. Alhamdulillah, 2014 has witnessed the birth of Roa. If you love “masakan pedas”, enjoy! If you’re not a fan of spicy food, get ready for some hot and tingling sensation! Roa’s menu is created and carefully chosen by myself. Modified to cater the taste buds of Malaysians. As a matter of fact, the food here is just 1/3 of how it’s usually prepared in Manado.
With no hesitation, I am intrigued and delighted to share this heritage of mine with each and every one of you. I hope that you would be treated to the best dining experience by my team! Oh before I forget, please try the Ayam Rica-Rica, Cumi Cah, Kuah Asam, and Ayam Tuturuga when you visit Roa, as they are all my favourites. If you are on a diet, call any one of our server to suggest a JM diet meal (it is not in the menu). It is yummy and healthy!
