Our love of tempeh began nearly 20 years ago when we were first living in Indonesia and we’ve spent many years since then enjoying the lovely tempeh as much as the beauty of Indonesia and its people.
Before embarking on this exciting new venture, we wanted to ensure that our tempeh would be comparable to the best in Indonesia so we spent several months in Java (in 2013) studying with some of the country’s finest tempeh producers, closely observing their techniques and processes. And we’re now able to make great authentic Indonesian tempeh in Bedfordshire thanks to our helpful mentors in Java!
We decided to set up Warung Tempeh to introduce the delights of this wonderful food to a wider audience… and are delighted to be doing so from our street food stall on Leather Lane Market in central london, where each day we serve our tasty homemade tempeh in two freshly cooked dishes
