About Indonesian Trade Promotion Center (ITPC) Dubai
The Indonesian Trade Promotion Center in Dubai operates as the Middle East outpost of a network of overseas offices maintained by Indonesia's Ministry of Trade since the parent organization was established in 1982 to serve as what Indonesian officials describe as an international marketing arm for the country's exporters. The Dubai office itself opened more recently, inaugurated on 2 October 2021 by the Indonesian Trade Minister at the time, Muhammad Lutfi, with the stated goal of strengthening Indonesia's trade representation across the United Arab Emirates and the broader Middle East during a period when exporters were also contending with pandemic-related disruptions to travel and in-person trade shows. The center occupies the fourth floor of Al Masraf Tower on Baniyas Road in the Al Rigga district of Deira, one of Dubai's older commercial neighborhoods, within walking distance of a metro station and several bus routes. Its core function is business matching: connecting Indonesian exporters, particularly small and medium enterprises, with buyers and distributors based in the UAE and neighboring Gulf markets. The office maintains a showroom on site displaying samples of export-ready Indonesian products across categories such as food, furniture, and textiles, intended to give visiting buyers a tangible sense of what Indonesian manufacturers can supply. Beyond the showroom, the center organizes and participates in trade missions, purchasing missions, and exhibitions, including past appearances at the Gulfood trade show and the Hotel Show, as well as organizing an Indonesian Coffee Festival aimed at building demand for Indonesian coffee exports in the Gulf. During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, the center shifted much of this activity online, running virtual one-on-one business matching sessions and business consulting for Indonesian exporters unable to travel. The office keeps standard weekday business hours and is closed on Saturdays and Sundays, in line with the UAE's current weekend schedule, though this was sourced from a general business directory rather than the center's own materials and should be treated as indicative rather than guaranteed.
