The concept began modestly as a Mini Outlet at Souq Al Marfa before growing into the semi-fine dining restaurant it is today, located in the MBL Building at Lake View, Cluster K, in Jumeirah Lake Towers. This address supersedes an earlier Al Barsha address that had been associated with the restaurant in some records but does not match its actual, current premises. House of Indonesia describes its mission as bridging the Indonesian community abroad with the people of Dubai, using food as a point of cultural contact, and it has backed that stated mission with formal partnerships, entering into an agreement with the Dubai Chamber in November 2023 and joining the Indonesia-UAE Business Council in July 2024.
