About Indonesian Trade Promotion Center (ITPC) Vancouver

Vancouver hosts one of the Indonesian government's overseas trade promotion posts at the Indonesian Trade Promotion Center, located at 310 West Cordova Street in the city's Gastown district. ITPC Vancouver belongs to a worldwide network run by Indonesia's Ministry of Trade, which various sources describe as comprising somewhere between 19 and 21 offices, including a sister post in Dubai that is already listed in this directory. Rather than handling consular matters such as passports or visas, the trade promotion centers work to connect Indonesian exporters with buyers and partners in their host markets, gather market intelligence, and organize trade missions and business matchmaking events. News coverage from 2016 describes the Vancouver office's role in encouraging two-way trade between British Columbia and Indonesia, naming Rizalu Akbar as the center's deputy director at the time and describing the post as Vancouver-based. A separate 2017 announcement highlighted growing interest from Indonesian entrepreneurs in investing in British Columbia, consistent with the trade center's mandate to support commercial ties in both directions rather than exports alone. The Gastown Business Improvement Society's own business directory lists the center's current contact details, including a phone line at (604) 696-6322 and an email address at [email protected], along with active Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn accounts under variations of the ITPC Vancouver name. Its website is listed as itpcvancouver.com. No public source gives a confirmed schedule of public opening hours, which is typical for a trade promotion office whose work is largely business-to-business and appointment-based rather than oriented toward walk-in visitors. For members of the Indonesian diaspora in British Columbia, the center is less a community gathering point than a government liaison office, most relevant to importers, exporters, and businesses looking to establish commercial links between Canada and Indonesia. Its presence fills a gap in the directory's coverage of Canada, which previously included only the Indonesian embassy in Ottawa and consulates general in Toronto and Vancouver for diplomatic services, without any dedicated trade promotion listing.
